The Seal Guardian of Pure Water: The Evolution of Sealing Ring Assembly Technology
Jun 23,2025
During operation, water purification equipment maintains internal water pressure. Poor sealing can lead to leaks, affecting equipment function and potentially damaging the surrounding environment. As the core component for sealing, the sealing ring's installation quality is critical; the performance of the sealing ring assembly equipment directly determines the accuracy and efficiency of the assembly.
Sealing ring assembly equipment typically consists of a mechanical transmission system, a positioning system, a gripping system, and a detection system. The mechanical transmission system drives the movement of various components, enabling actions such as conveying, gripping, and assembling the sealing ring. Common transmission methods include belt drive, gear drive, and pneumatic drive. Belt drives offer smooth, quiet transmission and are often used for long-distance conveying of sealing rings; gear drives provide higher torque and are suitable for assembly stages requiring greater power; pneumatic drives offer fast response and flexible control, often used for quickly gripping and placing sealing rings.
The positioning system is crucial for accurate sealing ring assembly. The equipment uses high-precision sensors and visual recognition technology to precisely locate the component requiring the sealing ring and the sealing ring itself. The visual recognition system uses high-definition cameras to capture images of the component and sealing ring, then uses image recognition algorithms to calculate their position, orientation, and size information. Based on this information, the equipment automatically adjusts the gripping system and assembly position to ensure the sealing ring is accurately installed in the designated location. For example, when assembling a sealing ring onto a water purifier filter bottle, the positioning system can identify the location and size of the filter bottle's threaded opening, as well as the inner and outer diameters of the sealing ring, precisely controlling the gripping system to place the sealing ring in the filter bottle's sealing groove.
The gripping system is responsible for picking up the sealing ring from its storage location and placing it in the assembly position. Gripping systems typically use pneumatic or electric grippers with various structures to accommodate sealing rings of different materials and sizes. For rubber sealing rings, pneumatic grippers can adjust air pressure to control clamping force, preventing damage during gripping; for smaller, high-precision sealing rings, electric grippers provide more precise gripping and placement. The gripping system also incorporates anti-slip and anti-abrasion materials to ensure the sealing ring does not slip or get damaged during gripping.
The detection system is the final safeguard for assembly quality. After assembling the sealing ring, the equipment inspects the assembly using pressure testing and visual inspection. Pressure testing applies pressure to the assembled component to check for leaks, determining the sealing ring's performance; visual inspection uses cameras to check the sealing ring's position for any twisting or misalignment. If the assembly fails inspection, the equipment automatically alerts, marking or rejecting the faulty product to ensure all outgoing water purification equipment has reliable sealing performance.
In actual production, sealing ring assembly equipment significantly improves production efficiency and product quality. Manual assembly was slow and prone to misalignment and sealing ring damage, resulting in low product yields. After introducing sealing ring assembly equipment, assembly efficiency increased several times, and the product's sealing performance yield improved from approximately 80% to over 98%. With continuous technological advancements, future sealing ring assembly equipment will move towards higher precision and automation, integrating more closely with other production equipment to further optimize the water purification equipment production process, improving efficiency and product quality.
